Do you even need a reason to study Japanese!?

I chose to study Japanese because I have always been interested in the unique culture of Japan. I love the food, popculture, and landscape. As a person born from the neighboring country of South Korea,  I also would like to study Korean-Japanese relations. I am excited to finally be able to understand the words in Japanese dramas and animes. It was difficult for me to learn to read in Japanese. The different alphabets trip me up. The sentence patterns and grammar are very different from English. Still, I am so happy to learn a new language.
